Bottle of TCB soybean oil recovered from inside the box office at Parbatipur in Rangpur city

Police have recovered 1,238 liters of soya oil from TCB hidden inside a businessman's bed in the Parbatipur area of Rangpur City. An oil mine was found in a house in Rangpur .They were rescued by the raid on the night of Wednesday.

The Detective Branch (DB) of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police seized the consumables of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) last night in a raid on the Hanif Mia house in the Parbatipur area. At the same time, Hanif Mia and Lal Mia were arrested. The Deputy Deputy Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (DB & Media) Uttam Prasad Pathak confirmed the authenticity of the recovered edible oil.

Uttam Prasad Pathak said the DB police raided a house near the Eidgah grounds of Parbatipur Ward No. 17 in the night. At that time, 144 bottles of TCB sealed with 5 liters of oil and 259 bottles of oil were recovered in the box inside the house.

The estimated value of the recovered soybean oil is 99,040 taka The police arrested the owner of the house, Hanif Mia and Lal Mia, who supplied the goods. These consumables have been stored at a low price by TCB dealers for illegal sale. Legal action shall be taken against them.

According to police sources, the government is selling the product to poor and distressed people affected by coronavirus through dealers at the fair price of TCB. But some unscrupulous traders in the town of Rangpur are illegally hoarding it. The Rangpur Metropolitan Police are carrying out regular raids against them.
