Taliban Sign US Peace Deal | The United States and the Taliban recently reached an agreement to put an end to long-term unrest in Afghanistan. Both sides have signed a peace treaty to bring peace back to the country. Under the deal, the United States and NATO have promised to remove their forces from Afghanistan within six months.

The US Military will not be in Afghanistan | British media say the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and senior Taliban members reached a peace agreement in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday. To date, though, there has been no dialogue between the Afghan Government and the Taliban.

Al-Qaeda or any other militant group will not be allowed to operate in their territory-the Taliban have committed to the deal. Taliban representatives have been gathering in Doha since the peace agreement started. The Taliban office was also established on the 27th in Doha. It was locked later, however.

On December 25, Taliban leaders announced that they would meet with US leaders to bring about peace. But from the outset, they were reluctant to sit down with the government of Afghanistan. Taliban leaders have also called the Afghan government a "puppet in the hands of the United States."US President Donald Trump came to power and declared an end to the violence. In September last year, US representatives confirmed the removal of 3,000 soldiers from Afghanistan in 20 weeks.

After a suicide attack on the Twin Towers in May, the United States deployed troops to Afghanistan. About two and a half thousand US soldiers have been involved in ongoing violence in Afghanistan for almost five years. Approximately 12,000 US soldiers are still based in Afghanistan.
